Northern Lights Conference 2014

northern

The Northern Lights Conference is now in its 4th year, and takes place on Friday, 17 October in the auditorium of historic King’s College at the University of Aberdeen. Tickets are just £15 for regular tickets, and £5 for students, including lunch and refreshments.

Speakers this year include: Emma Mulqueeny, founder of Rewired State and Young Rewired State and a Commissioner for the Speaker’s Commission on Digital Democracy as well as a Google Fellow,  Kate Ho from Project Ginsberg, Rory McCune an ethical hacker with NCC , Laura Walker on wearable tech from IFB, Dave Hibbard from Aberdeen’s 57North hackerspace, and Greg Hoyna, the Head of UX Design & Research at The Scottish Government’s new MyGov.Scot project.

Northern Lights is always a little different, and this year is no exception. We will have open space sessions where you can propose and lead talks in the time provided, and a couple of new surprises planned. We’re moving to the bigger auditorium this year, and with the free CodeTheCity civic hacking weekend kicking off the following day it’s a great time for geeks to be in Aberdeen.

Go make a weekend of it and soak up the fun.
