Each year, Ignite Dundee celebrates the amazing range of culture and creativity our city has to offer, including degree shows, exhibitions, talks, workshops and open studios.

Don’t miss the chance to see work by emerging artists and designers at the Abertay and DJCAD degree shows and the Dundee and Angus College end of year exhibition, as well as seeing behind the doors of Dundee MakerSpace and the Tin Roof arts collective.

DCA is showcasing the work of influential artist, designer and stylist Maripol alongside works by Scotland-based artists Zoe Williams and Clare Stephenson, while They Had Four Years shows new sculpture, installation, performance and video from recent graduates of Scottish art colleges.

University of Dundee Art, Design & Architecture Degree Show – 22 – 31 May. Around 250 final year students from 11 degree courses will showcase their work at the exhibition, which spans two buildings and 14 floors. The show encompasses fine art, film, illustration, jewellery making, traditional painting and animation.

Blast Theory Talk – 23 May 
Join Blast Theory co-founder Ju Row Farr to hear about one of the world’s most adventurous artists’ groups using interactive media. Blast Theory creates ground-breaking new forms of performance and interactive art that mix audiences across the internet, live performance and digital broadcasting.

Tin Roof Art Fair – 23rd May 
Tin Roof is opening its doors for an afternoon of events. Enjoy live art, music and a BBQ and a chance to pick up a unique bargain at one of the stalls.

Rewind Videotheque – 18 – 30 May 
The REWIND project based at DJCAD has re-mastered, preserved and archived an extensive amount of significant UK artists’ video from the 1970s and 1980s. This event will signify the launch of the REWIND Videotheque which will be based in the Visual Research Centre Microcinema, providing a facility to view the work in the collection.

They Had Four Years – 23 – 24 May 
TH4Y is a group show featuring artists who graduated in 2014 from Scottish art colleges. Working across sculpture, installation, performance and video are Cameron Orr, Lily Morris and Aaron McCarthy from DJCAD, Sophie Will from Gray’s School of Art and Alima Askew and Timothea Armour from Edinburgh College of Art.
