Creative Dundee

Make/Share – February Line-Up

FEB10

Bringing together people who make things, whatever they may be!

Join us on Wednesday 10th February at Dundee MakerSpace in the Vision Building, from 7pm – 8.30pm, to hear short talks by people about the things they’ve made and the process they’ve gone through to make them. We also have space to show and demo your creations/products/processes, so please just bring them along on the night – we’ll have tables and a plug socket or two on offer if needed.

You don’t need to sign up, just come along!

Makers speaking about their process this time include:

Piers Duplock

Piers is the Producer at eeGeo Ltd. While wearing different hats, his main job is to keep the studio in Dundee working efficiently and the people in it happy and communicating with each other, by removing barriers both literal and figurative. Piers will be talking about how they use teams of artists, software engineers and system testers to collaborate together to create their 3D Map platform. eeGeo website | Twitter | Facebook

Stephanie Fulke

Steph is a Visual Communicator who specialises in photography, illustration and graphic design, and currently studying as a mature student. She has a great interest in learning about places/home and how to support their creativity. Her presentation is about a project for a short work placement with Creative Dundee, which is looking at Dundee’s creative ecology. Steph’s website | Twitter

Scott Palmer

Scott is a final year PhD candidate at the School of Medicine, University of Dundee, researching molecular fluorescence dynamics in bladder cancer. Part of his research has focused on the development of “organoids”, lab grown models of cancer, to understand how tissue fluorescence changes as cancer develops. Scott’s profile

Beth Wales & Irene Latta

Beth and Irene are going to speak about Feeling It, a social enterprise and partnership between the two final year DJCAD students in (respectively) Textile and Interior & Environmental Design. They have created a charity t-shirt (screen printed by them!) with a fashion forward twist educating and raising awareness on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer. Feeling It Facebook | Twitter || Beth’s Twitter | Instagram || Irene’s Twittertumblr.
