Massive May Weekend Guide

It’s the last massive weekend for Dundee Design Festival and Ignite Dundee, so we wanted to share some details of what’s happening when, however it’s best to visit their websites to find out more. It’s pretty impossible to cover everything as there is just so much on, which is great, so here’s a brief snapshot of the city this weekend. Also this great round up of free things to do in Dundee by Discovery Credit Union features some of the many free things happening from 28th – 29th May 2016. There are many great exhibitions across the city running and also out of town including Angus Open Studios.

It’s well worth mentioning that this is the very final day to visit Dundee Design Festival in the old print works, on Guthrie Street!

Running Saturday 28th May – only:

Dundee Design Festival at West Ward Works is well worth the visit – both to see inside this former print factory building that’s long been closed, and to take in the impressive large scale design exhibition. With talks and workshops also running all day, you can withdraw some teckels, make your own prosthetic hand, design a garden and much more – it’s one not to miss. Check out their programme for full details of what’s happening when, and visit Masterchef winner Jamie Scott’s pop-up cafe in the old canteen for some real treats (foraged flowers, locally grown veg) at a reasonable price. Visit here for all the details.

Runs: Saturday only, 10am – 5pm. FREE.
