Hatch, run by independent collaborators Ed Broughton and Claire Dufour, brings people together to create and present short pieces of emergent performing arts. The group’s next event, an evening of new short performances that have been produced since their launch event in September, will take place on Thursday 24 November from 7pm at the Queen’s Hotel, Dundee. The event is open to all on a pay what you like basis and tickets can be found here.

Hatch brings the city’s vibrant creative scenes together, by facilitating collaborative working across different art forms through the production of short, original and accessible performances. The project has engaged with people from literary, theatre, dance, art, design, film, and tech (to name a few), and has allowed new staged pieces to flourish over the last two months.

Peter and Catriona, participants of Hatch stated: “It’s so interesting to watch our draft wee script be embraced by talented folks and developed before our eyes into something funny and warm. We’re both really stoked for the performance now.”

Claire Dufour, Producer of Hatch wished: “A massive thank you to everyone taking part in Hatch, they have worked brilliantly to bring their work to life and we can’t wait to share them. Dundee is the perfect place to experiment and make good collaborative work.”

The evening is designed as a social outing, with a full bar and relaxed setting, peppered with new short plays, dance pieces, song, and film. Music will continue after the performances are finished. The aim of the evening is to get the community excited about collaboration and to spend time getting to know one another in attendance.
