CUT, a production by Dundee based dance company Shaper/Caper, will come alive in West Ward Works, the site of DC Thomson’s former printworks on 17 and 18 February.  Pick up your tickets by clicking here.

Inspired by Bizet’s stunning opera Carmen, CUT is a high octane and immersive dance theatre experience that explores the genre of horror by taking audiences on a twisted and terrifying journey to explore human nature, secrets and darkest fears. This show is not for the faint-hearted, and is a murder mystery like no other.

CUT is a promenade performance touring the inner workings of the D.J. & Son Abattoir, a slaughterhouse based in Dundee. Following a drinks reception featuring live music, audiences are plunged into darkness where they have to fend for themselves whilst hoping to stay one step ahead of a murderous hunter. CUT features interactive elements that gets the whole audience dancing and includes a section where the audience hide in darkened rooms to try to escape the hatchet carrying hunter.

The performance features new music by renowned Scottish composer, Quee MacArthur that is skillfully woven with the original Bizet score, dramaturgy by award-winning author Catriona Lexy Campbell.

If you love the sound of this chilling performance, you can book your tickets on Shaper/Caper’s website by clicking here.

Shaper/Caper are collaborating with Scottish School of Contemporary Dance at Dundee & Angus College for the performance in association with Dundee’s Place Partnership Programme.
