Guests so far have included Ink Pot studio manager and comics artist, Norrie Millar; Dundee based Italian painter and illustrator, Sofia Sita; and the Master Miyagi of Dundee-based podcasts, Ryan McLeod. Future guests will include key individuals within the Dundee creative sector as well as passionate people from across Scotland from all sorts of background and interests.

Everything Mixtape was founded by Sam Gonçalves, a documentary filmmaker and one half of Sidling Bears. Sam is passionate about sharing his interests – he shared his inspirations and discussed the importance of failure at Make/Share March, and  process of his documentary in Brazil at Pecha Kucha Vol 11.

Explaining the thought behind Everything Mixtape, Sam said: “It is fascinating to listen to people when they are at their most passionate and enthusiastic, with Everything Mixtape I’m attempting to capture just that and draw some inspiration from the most random sources. There’s a bit of an urban legend that J.R.R. Tolkien hated fantasy books, so when he set out to write Lord of the Rings his inspiration came from Greek mythology, hiking and travel journals, religious texts, and even books about bugs and plants. Out of this whole mishmash of things, he ended up writing, arguably, one of the best fantasy books of all time! I find this fascinating! How can the ‘making of space’ to really listen to all sorts of random sources and bits of inspiration impact our creativity, work and outlook on life?”

Everything Mixtape releases new episodes every Monday. You can listen to the podcasts on Soundcloud or download them on iTunes. For more information on the podcasts, like Everything Mixtape on Facebook or follow them on Twitter.
