Hospitalfield’s Interdisciplinary Residencies 2018

Architects, writers, designers, choreographers, curators, artists, translators, researchers and educators are invited to apply for the Hospitalfield’s Interdisciplinary Residency in 2018! The residency offers the perfect context for any practitioner to focus and develop their work, as well as meet others in a similar position from the UK and abroad. The deadline for applications is Monday December 4th 2017, don’t miss this valuable opportunity!

We spoke to Laura Simpson, from Hospitalfield, who said; “We are lucky to always be able to bring together an incredibly interesting and totally dedicated group of people for the Interdisciplinary Residency and the discussions around the dinner table are inspiring and motivating for everyone involved. I have seen how designers other cultural practitioners use the two weeks to make progress with significant projects and to catalyse new ideas which they draw on for the rest of the year.

Interdisciplinary Residencies open for application

Residency Period 12 – 25 March 2018

Application Deadline Monday 4 December 2017, midnight

Eligibility International and UK-based artists, writers, architects, producers, dancers, choreographers, curators, designers, educators, researchers and others developing their working lives within the scope of contemporary cultural practices.

Places 8 for each residency period

Cost £630 for a two week full board residency

Selectors Cara Ellison, games journalist and developer, and Jenni Fagan, novelist and poet.

A highly international part of Hospitalfield’s programme which is open to those working across the arts who recognise that they require some time to focus on the development of their work. For individuals or collaborative groups it can be a test bed for developing their practice and a scenario to concentrate on a specific project.

Residency Period 12 – 25 March 2018

Application Deadline Monday 4 December 2017, midnight

Eligibility International and UK-based artists and designers who are experienced printmakers. Solo use of the Kinpurnie Print Studio to complete a design, publishing or fine art project or to experiment with new ideas. Also open to collaborative duos.

Places 1 for each residency period

Cost £630 for a two week full board residency

Selectors Cara Ellison, games journalist and developer, and Jenni Fagan, novelist and poet with advice from Annis Fitzhugh, DCA Print Studio Director

The Kinpurnie Print Studio is set up for safe etching and monoprinting.
