                 Venue: Unit 6, Vision Building // Date: 24 October // Time: 6-8pm // Tickets

A fascinating new project from Biome Collective recently showcased at the London Design Biennale, Shpeel explores how games can be used to open up conversations surrounding mental health. Check out our posts on the different stages of making Shpeel a reality.

Join Weave by Abertay on Wednesday 24 October for an insight on the process of making it, with a panel discussion as part of their Platform Talks.

Could gaming techniques be used to tackle major social challenges, such as rising mental illness and access to education? How can computer games be used to question or provoke our political institutions, challenge the norms and expectations of the digital present?

Speakers:
Mal Abbas (Biome Collective)
Tom Demajo (Biome Collective)
Kate Smith (Head of School – Social and Health Sciences, Abertay University)
Joseph Delappe (Abertay University and Biome Collective)
Chaired by Gillian Easson (Creative Dundee)

Shpeel – an interactive installation – will be demo’d at this event so that audiences can try it out for themselves!
