Creative Dundee

Suzanne Zeedyk PKN

Suzanne Zeedyk is a research scientist and developmental psychologist fascinated by babies’ innate ability to connect with other people.  In 2011, she stepped away from a 20-year academic career at the University of Dundee with the goal of helping the public to share in her fascination.  If emotional connection shapes our health, our happiness and our very biology, that means we need to put relationships at the heart of our communities and our politics.  In the last 8 years, Suzanne has spoken to over 50,000 people, along the way emerging as one of the leading voices in the grassroots movement for Scotland to become an ACE-Aware Nation (Adverse Childhood Experiences).  She’ll tell us why she thinks this vision is an idea whose time has come — and why she truly believes that Scotland has a chance to put the power of compassion on the global map. @suzannezeedyk
