JOBS: Co-director at Scottish BAME Writers Network

Scottish BAME Writers Network is hiring a new co-director. This is a paid, part-time and Scotland-based remote position for someone who has literary sector experience – including performers and writers.

In their words: “Our recent sector survey and events feedback illustrate we need more Black artist representation at higher levels within our own organisation. Therefore, we are particularly looking for applicants from the Black community / African diaspora as we have designed this role to address systemic barriers and gaps within our own network and within the wider literary sector.”

The new co-director will specifically assist with programming duties for our remaining major events/projects in 2020: Black History Month, the professional development conference, and a new pamphlet publication. They will also assist with funding applications, among other responsibilities. Leadership or event programming experience is an asset. However, the current founders and director have learned through hands-on experience and are committed to up-skilling fellow creatives.

Go over to the SBWN website for more information on how to apply. The deadline is on 11 July, 2020.
