Co-Founder and (On-Leave) Director
Gillian Easson is co-founding Director of Creative Dundee (on leave until Summer 2020), which she started as a blog in 2008 and has always been about connecting people with better opportunities. Formerly with Nesta for 7 years, Gillian ran a range of training, mentoring and grant programmes supporting early-stage creative industries and tech businesses across the UK and internationally; and also led a digital innovation fund for the arts in Scotland. With a background in design and innovation processes, she’s used this to improve access to education, employability and enterprise, and has worked with a number of international partners to develop and share collective thinking on the value and role of creative clusters. In 2017, Gillian was selected to join Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity’s inaugural Cultural Leadership Programme as the only non-Canadian representative, and was also named in Creative Review’s The Creative Leaders 50 – 2018, which acknowledges 50 people driving change within the creative industries.
