A basement, a red light and a feeling – Tin Roof off-degree show warehouse party is coming!

, at

Since it’s inception in January 2011, Tin Roof Studios has become one of Dundee’s most essential Arts spaces, providing studios for a wide range of artists and designers and hosting a cornucopia of uber-cool events from all-day experimental music festivals to film screenings, exhibitions and more. The underground, grass-roots atmosphere is something everybody should experience and on Saturday May 19th the space will hold the 2012 off-Degree Show Party within its industrial grounds – an all day event showcasing some of the most exceptional musicians and DJ’s to have come from the Art School. Miss this at your peril!

Appearing on the night will be Samoyed, a ferociously talented producer of forward-looking electronic music who has made a huge impact on the scene with his recent ‘Honey Dripping Behind’  EP – an idiosyncratic and tripped out journey through tape hiss, modulated bass, splintered hi-hats and soaring strings all wrapped up in layers of woozy electronic soul.

Support comes from Grampian Mountains, the brainchild of ex-DJCAD graduate Craig Gallacher who now runs an independent AV studio in Glasgow and whose DJ sets are a dizzying journey through sounds from the past, present and future, taking in spiritual brass and spoken word alongside haunted disco and warehouse acid licks. Also on the bill are Rhythmachine, a trio of DJ’s with a track record of holding some of the best DIY club events in unusual locations the city has ever seen. As disciples of the Detroit sound as well as Berlin’s Basic Channel and UK Bass music from the likes of Actress, their set promises to be something very special indeed.Last, but no means least, n_ilk at the Botanics co-founder and guaranteed party rocker P.Change will follow up his memorable floor-busting set at the Crawl Inclusive after party with a far reaching selection of discerning beats from the depths of his vast record collection.

The event runs from 4pm – 12am, donations on the door; Creative Dundee strongly advises everybody to attend to grab themselves some New-York style warehouse party action on your own doorstep!
