Perth Pecha Kucha MINI

Perth Pecha Kucha MINI comes to the city on Tuesday 6th May 2014, we’re running this special event in partnership with Creative Futures PK, a project offer training opportunities within the arts to young people in Perth & Kinross. 

Featuring lightning talks by local creatives from a range of backgrounds, we’re looking forward to hearing about what’s happening across the area and hope to see you there too!

If you’ve not come across Pecha Kucha before, it’s a presentation format which means chit-chat in Japanese, which is where Pecha Kucha originated. The talks are well loved because of their super speedy and fun format!

Presenters include:

Katie Guthrie is an artist based in Perth who is an active member of Real Nice Collective. Real Nice are a bunch of digital and analog freelance artists who spend way too much time together. Their aim is to make contemporary art and design more accessible in Scotland, giving everybody who’s passionate about creativity a chance to get stuck in at a range events, workshops and open discussions. @RealNiceCo

www.tayberrygallery.com are two creatives that met at University and have now become a business partnership. Louise is from Aberdeen and Sarah from Dundee. They now work in Perth and run Tayberry Gallery, whilst still creating their own designs in their time ‘off’. @TayberryGallery

Lyall Bruce is a graphic designer and illustrator who goes by the name of Sooper Double D, he is passionate about identity and character and when he’s not working hard for his clients he’s working hard on his own projects. Lyall’s designs for print and screen both static and motion and firmly believes he will never stop learning. @sooperdd
Noëlle Cobden is the Head of Creative Learning at Horsecross Arts, Perth. Prior to joining Horsecross Noëlle held the post of Head of Traverse Learning at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh from 2009-2013. Noëlle was also the Street Arts Coordinator (Sessional) at WHALE Arts Agency, Edinburgh from 2010-2013. Before joining the Traverse Noëlle was Learning Projects Assistant at Shakespeare’s Globe, London. Noëlle studied BA (Hons) Drama, Applied Theatre and Education at Central School of Speech and Drama (University of London). @NoelleCobden
