Fragments: Talk, Walk, Cast & Conversation at DCA

We all know Dundee Contemporary Arts hosts some fascinating exhibitions, but their programme and events around each show are just as interesting. On Saturday January 20th, you can sign up to a couple of events that will discuss, explore and set new light into Andrew Lacon’s Fragments.

The first event, at noon, gets you out and about with artist Andrew Lacon. You will discuss and make new work! The second event, at 6pm, is a conversation between Lacon and DCA Head of Exhibitions Eoin Dara. You can book just one or go to both of the events, in what promises to be a great day if you’re interested in talking and exploring art – regardless of whether you are an artist, student or just interested in the topic.

Fragments: talk, walk and cast.

A unique day of talking, looking and making. The programme includes exploring the artist’s practice, a walk to find and collect everyday patterns, shapes, colours and materials out and about in Dundee (via sketching, photography and rubbings) followed by a casting session to create three dimensional objects based on the collected images. All led by artist Andrew Lacon.

Andrew Lacon in Conversation

Step into (and onto) Fragments and join us for a conversation between Andrew Lacon and DCA’s Head of Exhibitions Eoin Dara, where they will be discussing his new work and broader artistic practice to date.

Andrew Lacon said: “I’m extremely excited to be working on this exhibition within the context of DCA and its great programme. The opportunity to work with such a wonderful team and world-class facilities means I can be far more ambitious and take my work to the next level“.

Book your tickets now and don’t miss this fascinating opportunity to learn, explore and make!
