Events

• Scottish Dance Theatre are making a very special comeback with a double bill of Amethyst & Tutumucky on 29 & 30 October.
• Eoin Dara gives a Curator’s Tour of Places We Think We Know by Mary McIntyre at DCA on 7 October.
• We’re encouraged to dig deeper, look closer and think bigger as the University of Dundee celebrates Black History Month with a programme of events.
• Join V&A Dundee for an evening of Friday Night Fever on 29 October, with music from The Rhumba Club!
• Festival of the Future celebrates collaboration between science, art and culture, with a programme of events running until 31 October.

Workshops

• Sharing Not Hoarding host Artworks Left Ajar, a free online poetry and writing workshop with artist Claire Yspol, on 10 October.
• Fancy learning wheel throwing or hand building? Dundee Ceramics Workshop are now offering 1-1 sessions and group bookings for getting to grips with clay.
• At Dundee Museum of Transport, Brian Robertson will be running a children’s sign-writing session on 20 October.
• Make a silver ring with jewellery designer Kirsten Manzi, on 27 October at Dock Street Studios.

Opportunities

• Calling all artists and makers! The VACMA Awards autumn deadline is this month, get your application in by 26 October.
• Shaper/Caper are looking for young people to join The Body, a youth advisory board for people age 16-30. Apply by 15 October, or take a look at other ways to get involved.
• Short Circuit is proud to launch Producer Accelerator, a brand new course for new and emerging producers based in Scotland. Deadline: 10 October.
• We Are Here Scotland’s Creators Fund is now open for applications, providing support for BIPOC creatives with £500 grants—apply by 31 October.
• The deadline for Visual Arts Scotland Annual Exhibition 2022 has been extended! You now have until the 20 October to submit work to be shown at the RSA.

Exhibitions

• With a papery show full of drawings delights, Mmmmm opens at GENERATORprojects on 8 October, featuring work by Maria Tolia, Melina Doumy, Mhairi Brown, Joanna Migut and Madeline Wood.
• Volk Gallery is back again with Look What I Found by DJCAD graduate Sarah Gillespie. Join them for the opening, 1-2pm on 8 October.
• Just over the Tay, artists will share their spaces for Open Studios North Fife on 23 & 24 October.
