Open Call: LGBTQ+ Bursary Programme

Shaper/Caper and Dundee Pride are inviting artists and innovative thinkers who identify as LGBTQ+ to apply to their Bursary Programme.


Calling all LGBTQ+ artists! Shaper/Caper and Dundee Pride have launched a second round of their Bursary Programme, and they’re looking for enthusiastic artists and/or academics who identify as LGBTQ+ to apply.

Supported by the Scottish Government’s Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, three bursaries of £1,000 and four of £500 are available to enable creatives to develop an idea, connect with a community of fellow artists, and share their work.

Bursaries can be used to make work that explores LGBTQ+ themes in any format, whether it’s creating something brand new or developing an existing project. Previous applicants can request that their original application is reconsidered, with no requirement to reapply unless you’d like to submit a new idea.
 
Bursary recipients receive:  

Participants will be asked to share their work at a public, in-person event and write a blog post to be shared on Shaper/Caper’s website. There is no requirement for work to be finalised before the sharing event.

Advice session: Thu 21 April, 6pm

Closing date: Mon 25 April, 12pm

Sharing by: Thu 30 June
