Round 2 of the We Are Here Scotland Creators’ Fund is open!

We Are Here Scotland have announced a second round of their Creators’ Fund, and applications are now open! The fund aims to provide practical funding opportunities for Black and POC artists and creatives across Scotland, along with one-to-one mentorship from experienced industry professionals who provide practical career advice, support and guidance.

Launched in June 2021, the first round of the Creators’ Fund was able to provide seven creatives with £500 each plus mentoring opportunities. This second round aims to build on the success of the previous round, and to make a significant impact for many BPoC artists and creatives in Scotland.

Deadline for second round applications: Tue 31 May

The Creators’ Fund is one way in which We Are Here Scotland aim to meaningfully support the developing careers of BPoC artists and creatives, and challenge the inequalities found within Scotland’s creative industries. They hope that their presence can inspire future generations of artists and creatives, and act as the start of a much-needed discussion regarding representation in Scotland’s creative industries.

They’re also seeking mentors from across Scotland’s creative and artistic industries to offer practical career support and guidance to successful recipients. If you think you’d be a good fit, they’d love to hear from you.

We Are Here Scotland is a Community Interest Company with an aim to amplify the voices BPoC (Black People and People of Colour), in particular Artists and Creatives who reside in Scotland. They aim to provide opportunities for Artists and Creatives to share their work, connect with each other, and have their voices heard within the wider art community. The presence of BPoC artists and creatives working within Scotland’s creative industries are significantly underrepresented, and this must change.
