2023 Dundee Festive Markets Round-Up

We’ve pulled together a round-up of Dundee’s Christmas markets to help you shop local this festive season.

We can’t quite believe it but Christmas is right around the corner once again! This festive season, we want to give local makers and designers a helping hand where we can. If you’re in a position to, we’d encourage you to do the same! And where better to shop than at one of the many festive markets taking place across the city?

Below is a list of the ones we know of so far—if we’ve missed any, send us an email and let us know! We’ll update the list as more are announced.

Festive Boutique, Double Door Studios

When: Tue 19 Dec, 11am–8pm, Thu 21 Dec, 5pm–8pm, Sat 23 Dec, 10am–5pm, & Sun 24 Dec, 11am–4pm

Double Door Studios are once again transforming their exhibition space for the fourth year of their popular Festive Boutique! Alongside jewellery, candles and mirrors made in the studios, this year you’ll also find a wide range of products from a hand picked selection of artists, designers and makers based in Scotland.

West End Christmas Market

When: Thu 23 November, 4–8pm
Where: Miller’s Wynd Car Park (next to Community Fridge), Perth Rd, DD1 4HY
Free entry

Browse festive gifts, grab hot food and drink and enjoy some music and entertainment before the West End Christmas light switch on!

Festive Design Market, V&A Dundee

When: Fri 24 – Sun 26 November, 10am–5pm
Where: 1 Riverside Esplanade, DD1 4EZ

V&A Dundee’s Festive Design Market is back! Curated by the brilliant Tea Green Events, this year the market will feature work from some of Scotland’s best independent designers and makers—including brand-new graduate talent from DJCAD. With handcrafted items at a wide range of price points, it’s the perfect place to pop in and pick up some gifts and festive goodies. 


CRAFTED Festive Market, DCA

When: Sat 25 & Sun 26 November, 11am–5:30pm
Where: 152 Nethergate, DD1 4EA

CRAFTED, the DCA’s yearly Festive Market, is back and bigger than ever. They’re returning to the bright space of their galleries but this time they’ll be there over two days! Expect talented designers of jewellery, textiles, illustration, print, homeware and more, all offering a wide range of great gift ideas.


Discovery Point Christmas Fayre

When: Sat 25 & Sun 26 November, 11am–4pm
Where: Riverside Drive, DD1 4XA
Free entry

Enjoy festive performances from local choirs while you shop at Discovery Point’s Christmas Fayre! Browse lots of locally made crafts and gifts, and keep the kids entertained with some festive activities.


Christmas Market, The McManus

When: Sat 2 December, 10am–4pm
Where: Albert Square, DD1 1DA
Free entry

Enjoy a day of festive fun for the whole family at The McManus with their first pop-up Christmas Market! There will be lots of gift buying opportunities from wonderful local makers, businesses, and suppliers alongside a host of events including festive crafts and storytelling.


Dundee’s Christmas Craft & Flea

When: Sat 2 December, 11am–5pm
Where: Bonar Hall, DD1 4HN
£2.50 entry (Free for under 12’s)

Shop small and local at this authentic twist on the traditional craft market with a huge selection of products from illustration to vintage bric-a-brac, plants to jewellery, ceramics to candles and so much more! The perfect spot to find unique gift ideas.


The Yard

When: Sat 4 & Sat 25 November, Sat 2, Sat 9, & Sat 16 December, all 11am–4pm
Where: The Steeple, Nethergate, DD1 4DG
£2 entry

Kicking off the season early, monthly market favourites The Yard are hosting several dates in the Christmas run-up. With their usual all-encompassing lineup of local makers, businesses, food and drink all in attendance, it’s perfect for shopping local. 


Carols in the Garden and Christmas Market, Birkhill Primary

When: Thu 7 Dec, 6–8pm
Where: Birkhill Primary School, Dronley Rd, DD2 5QD
£1 entry

Get into the spirit of the season with a night of live music, mince pies and whole range of local businesses and makers to shop from at the Birkhill Primary School Christmas market.


Verdant Works Christmas Fun Day

When: Sat 9 December, 11am–4pm
Where: West Henderson’s Wynd, DD1 5BT
Free entry

Enjoy a festive day out for the whole family at Verdant Works! As well as a host of local businesses and makers taking over Glazed Alley, there’ll be plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained and a range of local and homemade Christmas treats available from their cafe. 


Clay: Angus Makers Fair, Hospitalfield

When: Sat 9 December, 11am–4pm
Where: Hospitalfield House, Arbroath, DD11 2NH
Free entry

A unique festive event offering you the opportunity to meet some of the many ceramicists and potters working in Angus! Hear about their practice and buy some of their stunning work; from the smallest items to much more ambitious pieces.


MAXcrafts Christmas Fayre

When: Mon 11 December, 3–5pm
Where: The Maxwell Centre, Carnegie Street, DD3 7EW
Free entry

Join the Maxwell Centre for their MAXcrafts Christmas Fayre! Come along for unique, hand-crafted Christmas gifts, a raffle, tombola and lots of festive stalls.


GENERATORprojects Winter Market

When: Sun 17 December, 12–6pm
Where: Unit 25, 26 Mid Wynd, DD1 4JG
Free entry

GENERATORprojects’ annual winter market is back! For one day only, pop along to their space just off Perth Road to browse and buy gifts directly from local artists and craftspeople, enjoying some food and music whilst you do it. All sales go directly to the artists! During the market they’ll also be accepting donations for a clothes and toys drive and an odd sock open call.
