Applications are now open for Craft Scotland’s prestigious Inches Carr Craft Bursaries 2024.

Craft Scotland are inviting applications for the esteemed Inches Carr Craft Bursaries which include awards for Emerging Maker (less than 5 years practice) and Established Maker (over 5 years practice).

Both bursaries are open to professional, practicing makers working in Scotland who are producing one-off pieces or small batch production of handmade objects. Those in the Emerging Maker category can apply for up to £2,000 and for Established Maker, up to £5,000.

Examples of activities the bursary may support include, but are not limited to; strategic research and development, further learning in the field of contemporary craft, and innovative investigation of processes and materials. How to apply:
Applicants should apply through the Craft Scotland online application form providing the following information:

• Makers statement and CV.
• Images of five pieces of work that reflects the type of work you are currently making.
• An image of yourself, preferably of you at work, with your work, in your studio or delivering a workshop.
• Brief description of your current practice.
• Proposal of what you would like to do if you receive the bursary.
• Estimated breakdown of costs.
• Reasons why you are interested in this bursary and how you think your business will benefit.
