- Join university museum curator Matthew Jarron across July and August for their Public Art & Design walking tours, showcasing an exceptional collection of over 700 sculptures, murals, mosaics and more across the city.
- Pop along to Volk Gallery until Sat 11 July to vend ‘A little bird told me…‘ and receive a Dundee Feminist Bird Club membership pack, featuring a map of local bird and wildlife watching spots and a photo magnet.
- Join Hospitalfield from Sat 25–Sun 26 July for Study Day: Ecologies of Listening; curated by sound artist and musician SHHE and featuring UK and international artists whose practices are rooted in sonic awareness.
- Head out on a bear hunt across Perth and Kinross to find each sculpture on Bear’s Big Adventure Trail including those designed by Amps John Fairley, Louise Kirby, and Rio Moore!
Events
- Tea Green Events are back for their next Summer Design Market, taking over V&A Dundee from Fri 24–Sun 26 July with a host of Scotland’s best independent designers and makers.
- Disabled, Neurodivergent and D/deaf musicians and music industry workers can join Wired for Sound: Cymru x Alba online on Tue 28 July for a panel discussion and speed pitching event with folks from across Scotland and Wales.
- Bold, new gig-theatre show ‘The Singer‘ arrives at Dundee Rep from Wed 29–Fri 31 July before heading to Travfest in August! It features music and lyrics by KT Tunstall alongside a powerful story told in BSL and spoken English.
- Get your tickets booked for the third Lughnasadh Art & Music Festival at Forgan Arts Centre on Sat 1 August with a huge line-up of Scottish acts including Dundee’s Holy Snakes and Funky Gunners DJ Collective!
Workshops
- Single parent families who have wee ones to entertain over the summer holidays can join How It Felt for a series of Free Creative Summer Workshops each Tuesday in July.
- Head to The Mill Dundee on Sat 4 and 11 July for new, 3-hour Life Drawing sessions with Dougie Paterson featuring a mix of moving and static poses.
- Join artist Kit Martin for a special Cyanotype Workshop at Lamb Gallery on Tue 14 July! All materials will be provided but you can also bring along your own objects, like plats, stencils or photo negatives, to try printing with.
- Visit Dundee Ceramics Workshop on Sat 18 July for their Hand-Building: Animal Planters workshop. Suitable for beginners, you’ll use slab-building and simple sculpting techniques to design a playful creature pot.
Opportunities
- Dundee Changemakers Hub are looking for a new Hub Manager to lead their team and the delivery of their programme. If you’ve got experience working in a funded, partnership-led organisation, apply before Sun 12 July for this part-time role.
- Another opportunity from the DCH team as the next round of Dundee Changemakers Hub Microgrants are open for applications! Individuals, community groups, and third-sector orgs can apply for up to £1,500 towards climate-related projects or ideas until Thu 30 July.
- Submissions are now open for this year’s SMHAF 2026 Writing Competition. Writers can submit work across fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction exploring mental health and this year’s theme, ‘Reflections’. Submissions close, Sun 7 August.
- Applications are open for the SURF Awards 2026 until Mon 7 September! The awards are open to Scottish community regeneration projects of all sizes with awards available for both Creative Regeneration and Community Led Regeneration.
Exhibitions
- UNESCO City of Design Dundee’s ‘BOOKENDS’ exhibition at Central Library has been extended! Pop down before Thu 9 July for a chance to see their Dundee Design Festival 2024 exhibit, featuring local designers Lauren Morsley, Louise Forbes, Camillo Atlas and Aymeric Renoud.
- Head along to Sharing Not Hoarding at the waterfront before Sun 19 July for ‘Dear Earth‘ – a collaboration with Fife Contemporary sharing artists’ letters to the earth, alongside photographs of their work and practice.
- Visit Lamb Gallery until Fri 24 July for ‘Light Show‘, a new multidisciplinary exhibition exploring how light inspires art, impacts nature, and informs discovery.
- Now showing at Verdant Works, ‘Forgotten Fleece Tales‘ brings together work from 20 artists in Scotland using waste wool to explore the place wool holds in Scotland’s history and heritage, and how it can be reimagined for a sustainable future.

- CraftScotland are asking makers and craft professionals across Scotland to complete their short Craft Sector Survey to help them build a picture of the challenges and strengths of the country’s contemporary craft sector. Share your practice and views by Wed 29 July.
