Day three of NEoN 11 sees the unveiling of a week-long exhibition of interaction, movement and sound featuring the work of five artists at the forefront of their respective disciplines. The artists have been drawn from far and wide for the exhibition – London-based Memo Atken’s Super Awesome Visuals Company will be screening ‘Simple Harmonic Motion’ which explores the complex patterns that arise from interacting multi-layered rhythms (this also influences the finale dance and light performance on the Law Hill on the 12th) while from Glasgow Yuck n Yum’s very own Bafta-winning artist Gayle Meikle presents work that looks playfully at linguistic onomatopoeia. There will also be Sound Art from Tom De Majo, and a quite beautiful Harmonograph built from found objects by Tim Vincent-Smith of Nook.
All in all, the exhibits and interactive works on show will demonstrate sound and movement to stunning effect and are well worth a visit. Open from 12pm – 5pm all week, and don’t forget to visit the pop-up shop while you’re there to pick up some exclusive NEoN goodies before they all go……….
