A lively talk about the challenges of Serendipity. This well-documented but fleeting phenomenon in the history of discovery and innovations in science now appears to have a resurgence of interest in contemporary digital life. Here from the interdisciplinary panel recently featured on Radio 4’s ‘Digital Human‘, Computer Scientists, Artists, HCI and Interaction Designers from the SerenA RCUK Project and invited guests will join the discussion.

CHASING SERENDIPITY WITH LINKED OPEN DATA – WORKSHOP – 27TH JUNE – VRC,DCA
Are you interested in Linked Open Data (LOD) and the vision for the semantic web that is becoming reality now? With all BBC programming, Wikipedia (DBpedia) as well as museums, libraries, cultural organisations adopting LOD, this workshop will provide hands-on experience of working with semantic information published as LOD. Computer Scientists/Hackers from QMUL and HW will run this workshop.
