Residency: Hospitalfield Drawing School 2019/20

Hospitalfield will appoint an artist-in-residence to continue to shape and run the Free Drawing School over a 12 month period. The Free Drawing School is a three-year project of experimental drawing at Hospitalfield and is a core part of the on-going programme. Each year an artist is appointed to take on the role.

The appointed artist will be supported by the team at Hospitalfield and will develop the project with key groups of people in Arbroath and beyond, many who already have strong working relationships with the community. Now that the School has been running for a year there is a community of interest gathered around the project. During the period of their residency, the artist will be provided with a free studio at Hospitalfield where they can spend time developing their work and be in conversation with the diverse community of artists that come to Hospitalfield’s busy programme.

Applications are welcomed from artists based in Dundee and the DD postcode to be the commissioned residency artist for Year Two of the Free Drawing School. They’re asked to commit 16 hours per week focus on developing the school and working with participants.

The fee based on a part-time contract of £24,000 Pro Rata
