There’s limited space in the city to test new ideas and share work in progress – so between September and December 2024, Hapworks_00 is hosting a series of three takeovers, designed to provide free, short-term creative space for informal groups or collectives based in Dundee.
Three groups will test experimental creative projects, new approaches and share work with new audiences in a visible city centre location – and each of their projects invites you to come and take part through music, games and print!
In residence: Thu 31 October–Tue 5 November
Over a series of public events throughout their residency, games and digital art community Biome Collective will create spaces to experiment, share and play!
Find out more and book your tickets at the links below.
All events are free but booking is required.
This Halloween, join a night of playing spooky games together on the big screen.
Drop-in to this multi-station workshop and explore various game-making activities.
Get inspired with an evening of talks, games to play and performance!
An interactive talk from Niall Moody on trainwrecks, Pirate Karts, and the importance of making things solely for the joy of making them
Opening night: Fri 6 December
Dundee Print Collective is back! And guess what… DPC is 10-years-old this autumn so it’s time to get everyone printing, blow up the balloons, put on the party hats and have an exhibition of a whole new set of limited edition screen prints.
The work is so new that it hasn’t even been made yet – that’s where they need you to help. A DPC project call out will go live on their socials soon, inviting you to get involved and get printing!
Sun 15 September
7:00–9:00pm
Spontaneous music created live before your very eyes!
Nine musicians.
Three trios.
Names drawn from a hat.
Followed by… the big nine.
Come and let your ears be mesmerised!

We’re looking forward to testing more of what this space can offer to our city’s creative networks, and hope to keep welcoming new faces to Hapworks_00 for coworking, events, or just to pop-in and say hello. Find out more about our plans from September 2024. If you’d like to read more about the Hapworks journey so far, we reflected on the initial pilot phase in our blog Hapworks: What’s Next?, or head to the Hapworks website for more about the shared vision for creative space in Dundee.
Hapworks has been enabled by Creative Dundee with support from Creative Scotland’s Recovery Fund for Cultural Organisations and Dundee City Council’s Vacant to Vibrant initiative.
