Wed 14 Oct–Sat 14 Nov, at The Scottish Parliament
Fabric: Creating Care brought together young people and practitioners working in creative, health and community spaces to collectively reimagine youth mental health support, and explore creative, inclusive and community-rooted approaches that prioritise collective care.
We’re now delighted to share a special Fabric: Creating Care display, available to view at the Scottish Parliament from Wed 14 Oct–Sat 14 Nov, during the 20th Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival.
This display is a reflection of our process and findings, brought together and creatively expressed by Dundee artist-led collective, Original Copy. It shares a living record of what supports us, what fails us, and what we’re building together, creatively capturing experiences, insights, reflections, and evolving understanding.
Research shows that young people know that creativity, empathy, collaboration and care are essential skills for their future – yet these are too often missing from the spaces that are meant to support them. Fabric created a peer-led space to take these insights seriously, by shaping ideas and practices together.

The display will be situated in the public area of the building and is available to view during opening hours. Members of the Scottish Parliament’s visitor services team will be available to help and able to direct you.
Led by Creative Dundee with project funding from NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation and Northwood Trust, this peer-led programme was delivered in partnership with healthcare, community and creative organisations.
Fabric also received support from the Participation and Communities Team as part of The Scottish Parliament’s 12-month Communities Action Plan to connect grassroots groups and third-sector organisations directly with the work of Parliament.

You are welcome to go and see the display any time the Parliament building is open, as it is situated in the public area of the building. You do not need to book. The building is wheelchair accessible and there’s airport style security to get into the building.
