PechaKucha Night Dundee Vol. 33

4th November, 7:00pm at Dundee Rep Theatre

PechaKucha Night Dundee returns for Vol. 33 this November!

PechaKucha Night Dundee is back at Dundee Rep Theatre on Wednesday 4 November 2026 with another brilliant lineup of speakers, preparing to take to the stage!

Hosted by Creative Dundee in the city since 2011, PKN now runs in over 1,300 cities around the world. It’s a simple quick-fire format – speakers show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. You can watch all previous talks online, or use our randomiser if it’s too hard to choose!

Always different, entertaining and inspiring; there’s something for everyone at this event which first started in Tokyo in 2003 and has now grown into a global phenomenon. Our regular Pass the Mic section also gives anyone the chance to shout out the events and opportunities they have coming up!

Thanks so much to Robin Lawrence for this year’s colourful and joy-filled artwork!

Oisín Keohane is a Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Dundee. Before coming to Dundee, he held research fellowships at the Universities of Toronto, Edinburgh and Johannesburg. In 2026, when the university proposed ending its philosophy degrees, he led a public campaign that gathered over 6,000 signatures, won backing from academics at 450 universities around the world, and drew national and international press coverage. The university has since kept three joint degrees open, so philosophy can still be studied at Dundee alongside art, English or psychology. He is still campaigning to restore the degrees that were suspended, including Philosophy as a subject in its own right. His writing ranges from ‘cosmo-nationalism’, the way nations claim to speak for all of humanity, to the philosophy of nudity and the politics of which languages get spoken and protected.

Andrea Dritschel is a multi-award-winning jeweller and design researcher based in Dundee, Scotland. Her work sits at the intersection of traditional craft, speculative design, and biodesign. Deeply inspired by the environment and the more-than-human world, she weaves these themes throughout her practice. She finds value in the ephemeral qualities of these materials, embracing their impermanence. Through her practice, she seeks to show how design and the act of making can foster deeper, more meaningful connections with nature and the more-than-human systems that surround us..
