On Saturday the Dundee Contemporary Arts
Centre celebrates its 10th anniversary, kicking off proceedings with
the private view of The Associates exhibition tonight from 7pm.
To mark the success of the last decade, the
DCA is holding a Birthday Open Day, including free talks, demonstrations, events,
children’s workshops , behind the scenes tours and cinema screenings. So if you
fancy having a snoop around the cinema projection room, or getting to grips
with Photograms in the dark room, have a peek at the list of freebie events
they are hosting here.
They
have selected 2 great films from ’99 to screen in the cinema, The Matrix and
Seul Contre Tous, to celebrate the year of the grand opening, again completely
free. Morphius for free I hear you ask? Yes!
And
finally, The Associates exhibition opens 10 years to the day the DCA first
opened its doors (or at least confused people by sliding to the side).
