This
week a sneak peek into the world of Dundee illustrator and textile designer,
Lindsey Gardiner.
Lindsey
spends her days (and probably nights) drawing and painting in her studio at the
creative hub that is Wasps Meadow Mill. As well as illustrating various other
authors’ children’s books she also creates her own series, following the
adventures of Lola and Yuki – her fluffy canine friends.
You
can buy Lindsey’s books on Amazon or find them in any library or toy box near
you. I also discovered you can read them in the waiting room of Blu
Hairdressers on South Tay Street. Much better than Grazzia.
Lindsey’s newest book, ‘When Dragons are Dreaming’ was released this week!
In
addition to all her published works, Lindsey also creates gallery pieces and
product collections under her label ‘quietly eccentric’. Her super lovely
drawing style is quirky and colourful, translating beautifully onto fabric and china.
Her cushions, tote bags and tees are available now and I was lucky enough to
see the sample pieces of her new ceramic collection (mugs featuring a pack of
loveable little pooches!).
When
she’s not dog walking, drawing or printing, Lindsey teaches in the textile
department at Duncan of Jordanstone.
