Can you believe it’s that time of year again when we get to look inside some of the best buildings in the city…
Doors Open weekend takes place in Dundee, this weekend, 17th – 18th September.
Looking through the keyholes of the 26 buildings on offer, our top destinations include: Maggie’s Centre, Central Mosque, City Archives, Claypotts Castle and the obscure but endearing sounding ‘Open doors to heaven graveyard visit’!
Another great space is The McManus collections unit (based at the old Barrack Street museum), which is hosting guided tours on Saturday 17th Sep to celebrate its 100th birthday. The collection unit has an incredible mix of city history, archaeology, natural sciences and world culture; and includes everything from birds and butterflies, to coins and costumes, to fossils and artefacts… With just 4 tour slots that day, make sure you book a place through the McManus website.
Doors Open Days Dundee Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th September 2011 – at various venues across Dundee.
