Creative Dundee

Developing Young Creatives

Last year, professional artists and educators Simon Reekie and Anna Orton ran classes in Dundee aimed at budding Secondary school aged artists building their creative portfolios to apply to art college.

The classes were so successful that the duo, SimonAnna, are launching two more courses later this month, with a new class also aimed at Primary school aged young people.

Simon and Anna have both exhibited their own art work internationally and have taught at DJCAD; whilst Anna has worked as an artist in primary schools; and Simon is a fully qualified/registered art and design teacher who has taught in schools, colleges and universities both in the UK and the US.

Their class sizes are limited to a maximum of 14 students and are run by both Simon and Anna to make sure it’s a fun, safe, exciting and relaxed environment for young artists to explore their creativity and develop their talent. The artists get the chance to experiment with various creative techniques to develop their creativity, imagination and artistic talent.

At the end of the class, there’s an exhibition to showcase their work which gives the artists the chance to show off their artistic creations to their friends and family!
