If you missed out the last time, then here is another opportunity to see three of Scottish Dance Theatre’s acclaimed works, this month.
Two of the pieces, DOG and LUXURIA, were commissioned by former Artistic Director, Janet Smith, during her 14-year tenure with the company. The third piece, What on Earth!? is choreographed by Smith herself and SDT’s Assistant Director, Sally Owen.
Having just returned from an extensive tour of India (funded by British Council, the GREAT Campaign, Scottish Government and Creative Scotland), SDT is delighted to bring LUXURIA and DOG to the Rep. Honest and raw, witty and sophisticated, DOG is an exhilarating work by Hofesh Shechter – one of the most talked about choreographers of the moment. Liv Lorent’s award-winning LUXURIA is a majestic work that is both witty and tender, exploring desire and our search for fulfilment. Visually arresting, cinematic and with haunting music, LUXURIA is a feast for all the senses.
What on Earth!? is SDT’s dynamic and playful piece for children aged 5 years and upwards. Combining dance and animation with a soundtrack from around the world, the dancers take their young audience on a curious night time journey full of surprise encounters with strange flora and fauna. A wonderful experience for all the family where you can enter a world of dreams about Planet Earth … where friendships are made … and battles are won and lost.
What on Earth!? (recommended for 5 years and upwards)
