January is almost upon us and with that generally comes darkness and skintness, but fear not, Fun a Day is back to launch your 2013 with a free and ultra creative bang!
The idea is that you create an artwork every day in January and then exhibit your projects in the Fun a Day exhibition in February. Philadelphia-based Art Clash Collectiveset up the project 9 years ago and Morgan Cahn is the artist behind Dundee’s FAD which is now in it’s second year. You can email any images or in-progress updates during January to Morgan and she will display them here: funadaydundee.wordpress.com/
Who: Everyone is welcome to participate in the project and exhibition, which is also free to attend. You can email funadaydundee@gmail.comwith questions.
What: The premise is simple: pick a fun project (take a photograph, write a song, draw a picture, bake a cake, etc), do it every day in January, then show your work the following month in a big group show.
Where: During January the where is up to you. In February, all artworks, documentation, or plans for performances will be moved to the Roseangle Arts Cafe at 130 Perth Road.
When: The celebratory exhibition is on Friday February 8, 2013 from 6-9 pm. (Art drop-off will be 10-12 Friday, pick-up 10-12 Saturday)
Why: Fun! And…the project seeks to create a welcoming forum for people to share what they do, to strengthen existing communities of artists, and to kick-start new ones.
