30.10.13
People from Dundee and beyond are invited to join another city first – Dundee Sustainability Jam and commit just 48 hours to designing with a difference!
This event is taking place in conjunction with the Global Sustainability Jam, so the Dundee Sustainability Jam will connect with people jamming in 74 cities, from over 26 countries worldwide, around the issue of Sustainability.
As the only sustainability jam taking place in Scotland, the Dundee event hopes to bring together a dynamic set of people from across the country to research issues, identify ideas and design creative solutions in a fast paced environment. However, the Dundee Sustainability Jam Team advise people not to think of this as work and instead envisage an action-packed design adventure. The main aim of the weekend is to have fun in a creative way!
Jammers will connect with the global design jams, take part in design skills workshops and games, listen to short talks by inspiring speakers, meet some exciting new faces and design a project to present to the world.
The hub venue for this event is the Visual Research Centre at Dundee Contemporary Arts. In addition, there will be a number of break-out venues, including the workshop space at Skill Share Dundee, a hack lab with 3D printing resources from Dundee University and a number of different research and working spaces within the city.
Everyone is welcome to join the Jam!
The Dundee Sustainability Jam would like to welcome a diverse group of people (service designers, object designers, sustainability experts, professors, business people, teachers, hackers, makers, artists, illustrators, musicians and students), to form teams with mixed skill sets and work together to create ideas which can make a little… or perhaps a big difference.
