Dundee Rep Theatre and Dundee City Council’s Education Department have joined forces once again to collaborate on a major work experience project for secondary school pupils, Enterprise @ the Rep. As an exciting opportunity for young people to work alongside theatre professionals, you are invited to see the culmination of their work on Friday 6th December.
This unique skills development and training event provides young people with an invaluable opportunity to experience the process of applying for a job from application through to shortlisting, workshop and interview, and ultimately, for successful candidates, the chance to become an “employee” for two days – 5th/6th December.
The successful candidates will become directors, actors, dancers, stage managers, scenic designers, lighting designers, sound designers, wardrobe/costume designers, creative learning facilitators and the press/marketing team. They will work with Dundee Rep staff to bring to life a short scene from this years family Christmas show The BFG which will culminate in a presentation for an invited audience.
In its fifth year this unique project evolved from Dundee Rep’s Scottish Arts Council funded LEARN project which enabled the Rep to create a unique training and skills development programme. Enterprise @ the Rep has not only developed into the only event of its kind in the UK, it has also created greater learning opportunities for a range of participants, teachers and staff.
