Scottish Dance Theatre’s SCALE has its final two spectacular events taking place the weekend of 4th – 6th July – Human Scale at The Caird Hall and PARK in City Square.

Human Scale 4/5 July – Marryat Hall, Caird Hall 8pm

In this stellar collaboration, visionary choreographer Fleur Darkin joins forces with Linbury prize-winning designer Alexander Ruth to create a new work on Scottish Dance Theatre’s glorious company of dancers. Lighting design is by Emma Jones and original music played live by Glasgow-based four piece The One Ensemble. Tickets are on sale now from Caird Hall box Office.

Fleur Darkin, Artistic Director for Scottish Dance Theatre said: “Human Scale is the company’s first collaboration with The One Ensemble, and their music and its sweeping away quality generates a hunger to dance. Craving, longing, and desire fuel the dancers and the musicians in this ritual of time, framed by the raw beauty of Alexander Ruth’s tactile and award -winning design. Human Scale is a sensual space, a holding place for love to exist before time steals us away”.

Fleur talks about SCALE is so important for Scottish Dance Theatre, “Scottish Dance Theatre is artist-lead. As artistic director I hope to push the possibilities of what a dance company can be. We are a research engine, a breeding ground for new ideas from excellent artists and makers of works that delight audiences in Scotland and internationally. Our gold is our dancers, artists whose curiosity, passion and talent results in a virtuosity that creates profound connections between our audiences and the dance”.
