Park Arp with Delia Baillie

parkarp

Park Arp is a new class, exploring themes of landscape, memory and public spaces. Over the 4 week block you will have access to one-to-one tuition, demonstrations of drawing, painting & collage techniques and the opportunity to participate in informal group discussions.

From the time we were toddlers toddling around our local parks to the present when we use parks for sunning ourselves, walking the dog,  barbies,  slurping ice creams, taking night-time shortcuts home, throwing things (frisbees, sticks,..) and just, general al fresco daydreaming – how much of our lives do you think we spend in parks?

Park Arp is open to all levels of artistic ability and would suit those interested in exploring ideas through painting, drawing and/or collage. The project will begin with an illustrated talk introducing you to a wide range of artworks.  Over the four weeks you will have access to one-to-one tuition as well as the opportunity to participate in informal group discussions.  The class is suitable for both – individuals wishing to further their work within the 2.5 hours each week and those who might want to use it as be basis for a more extensive period of development.

Delia Baillie is a lecturer at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and has a studio in Dundee. She has been a member of the Royal Scottish Academy since 2008. Recent projects include a 2 month artists residence at Halle 14 in Leipzig, Germany.

Students should bring paper, a selection of drawing and painting materials, and a sketch/notebook if possible.
