Students from DJCAD are launching a new events series, Design Life Stories open to everyone to attend, where speakers will talk about the twists and turns of their creative careers so far. The first event will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th March in the Matthew Building at DJCAD.
The speakers at the first free event include:
Alasdair McGill
Alasdair is Head of Entrepreneurship here at the University of Dundee. In his talk he will share the story of how he got here, the twists and turns that his life has taken along the way, the people who have influenced him, and a glimpse of how he sees the future.
Janice Aitken
Janice will talk about the jobs she had since leaving college in the mid 1980’s and how she ended up as a Senior Lecturer in Art & Media. As well as being a Senior Lecturer, she regularly collaborates with colleagues from CAHID on archeological facial reconstruction projects. She has also been involved in several projects with colleagues in life sciences, medicine and dentistry.
Calum Colvin
Calum will talk about his career since graduating from DoJ in 1983, his time in London as a photographer/artist from the mid eighties to the mid nineties, his following work in Scotland as an artist looking at issues of identity and his involvement in teaching over that time.
