Dundee is looking for two key individuals to help implement the city’s next phase as a UNESCO City of Design; and also to work on other strategic initiatives including the Place Partnership and the new Cultural Strategy.
Stewart Murdoch, chair of UNESCO City of Design Dundee and Dundee’s Director of Leisure and Communities, said: “Winning the title as the UK’s first ever UNESCO City of Design was a huge achievement for Dundee, and now we’re getting ready for the serious work of delivering on this title.
“Being a UNESCO City of Design is a lifelong title for Dundee and it’s something we want to use to accelerate the city’s regeneration, helping to deliver public services that meet the needs and challenges of our citizens, and raising aspirations of the young people across all our communities.
“To do that we need a great team and these new jobs of Programme Co-ordinator and Desk Officer will be absolutely key to making that happen.
“The successful candidates will work alongside enthusiastic, highly skilled professionals from Dundee City Council, Creative Dundee, Abertay University and the University of Dundee, as well as our many cultural and public sector partners across the city.
“We know that hundreds of superb graduates complete their studies in Dundee each year from our two universities and college, and we’re looking forward to lots of local applications as well as interest from further afield as people increasingly see Dundee as a great place to life and work.”
