Scotland Re:Designed (SR:D) has selected Dundee to be the location of their new interiors exhibition. A truly collaborative affair, with the support of DJCAD, Fleet Collective and Creative Dundee, the exhibition will showcase Scottish design talent to industry, and the public, in a location buzzing with creativity.
Staged within The Vision Building Scottish, or Scotland based, textile, wallpaper, lighting, soft furnishings, furniture designers and interior designers are all invited to apply to exhibit at this inaugural event. The event, supported in part by Creative Scotland, will allow designers and makers the opportunity to present and sell to the public, plus there will be a focus on media and buyer appointments, including the potential to interact with SR:D Interior mentors, including:

Designers will be able to purchase exhibition space, at significantly subsidised rates, and confirmed exhibitors will then be considered by our respected mentors, who will award one graduate, one emerging and one established designer or brand the opportunity to exhibit at no cost.
The three selected designers or makers will then also be considered for a grant award of £1000.00 towards showing at Clerkenwell Design Week or 100% Design in 2016. The winner will be announced at the VIP opening reception on Thursday 8th October.
What follows will be 2 days of industry, media and public engagement, including an exclusive pop-up shop and a learning discussion with some of the UK’s most respected design experts and mentors.
Mike Press, Chair of Design Policy within the University of Dundee’s Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, had this to say on the event:
“Design and the creative industries are vital to both the culture and economy of Scotland, and especially Dundee. Scotland Re:Designed has already proven its value in connecting designers with business, and raising the profile of Scottish design.
Bringing this event to Dundee – the UK’s only UNESCO City of Design – both celebrates the city’s vibrant creative economy, and showcases some amazing home-grown talent. Simply put, it’s the must-attend event of the year.”
