Creative Dundee

deesign Magazine: Call for submissions

What is it?

deesign Magazine is a physical and online publication to be made which will showcase design projects from all disciplines and are looking to feature Dundee based design talent. The magazine will be an eclectic mix of different projects from across all areas of design such as jewellery, architecture, service or engineering.

The physical deesign Magazine will be a high quality risograph printed 24 page bound booklet. Every edition will contain 7 or 8 projects hand picked from submissions by their impartial curatorial team. These picks will aim to give the best cross spectrum snapshot of the Dundee design scene at the time of publishing. This will be accompanied by a website showcasing all submitted projects.

Each project will be showcased with 3 images, a 100 word blurb and a set of links to “more info online” (this can be anything from a project site, portfolio site or a Twitter link).

Alongside these projects deesign Magazine will also publish two 700-800 word essays which can focus on anything related to design or design thinking. If you have an essay you think would fit, feel free to contact them directly via email.

Why get involved?

Beyond having your name and project or essay in a magazine with a projected readership of more than 2,000, you will get a free copy of the printed magazine & an equal split (with the other contributors) of half of the profits (estimated to be around £20 per person). All other profits will be reinvested into the next issue of their magazine.

If you’re interested in being featured in deesign Magazine, you can view guidelines on submitting your work on their website at: deesignmag.co.uk/submissions before emailing submissions@deesignmag.co.uk.

The deadline for submissions for issue 1 is 12pm Monday 28th September. If you have any further questions, queries or would just like a chat, please email Rich via rich@deesignmag.co.uk.
