Creative Dundee

Festive Make/Share Line-Up

Make/Share is a free monthly night, bringing people together to gain a behind the scenes insight into creative processes, held on the second Wednesday of each month, at The Beer Kitchen Dundee, from 7-8.30pm.

Join us on Wed 14th Dec from 7pm for a festive Make/Share event with some games, gifts and laughter. We’re delighted to let you know that The Beer Kitchen is our official sponsor venue for Make/Share and supporting the event with a complementary beer or soft drink, and for this occasion some seasonal canapés too.

On the night, you’ll hear short talks by local creative talents about the processes behind turning their project or product into reality and how they engage with the city’s communities. Speakers explore how their project or product has evolved, progressed, changed and transformed, how they experiment, what their biggest challenges have been and how they overcame them.

Short talks include the opportunity to show and demo your work. Just bring them along on the night – or share your upcoming events with the group, we’ll make sure to tweet about them. After the talks we have a short opportunity for any questions and discussion. We also invite you to stay after the talks to celebrate the end of the year and your amazing achievements.

You don’t need to sign up, just come along!

Speakers this time include:

Hazel White & Mike Press

Open Change helps people make their voice heard in redesigning public services. Hazel and Mike are directors of this service design and innovation company based in Dundee. They use design to address social issues like how we support young people getting into work and how the NHS can involve patients and carers in redesigning health services. They will invite you to think about how to get Dundee’s unemployed young people into work. Website: www.openchange.co.uk | Twitter: @hazelonewhite | @mikepress | @openchangeuk

She has ran a small retail business and worked in Higher Education for eight years in administration, corporate communication and marketing. Sean from Soul Garden

No one should go hungry when so much food goes to waste. At Soul Garden we cook food at our Community Kitchens, and bring people together with their friends, family, neighbours and strangers to enjoy it. Simple as that! It isn’t about feeding the poor, the homeless, but about feeding people. It’s about treating people as human beings, no matter who they are, where they come from and what their circumstances. It’s about saying “Come in, sit with us and have a bite to eat”.
