Creative Dundee

Multicultural Wall Art Exhibition

Venue: Verdant Works Red Box // Date: December 1st // Time: 6-8pm

This Creative Scotland funded exhibition of textile based artwork has been developed as a partnership between Verdant Works, Arts and Communities Association and young people from school and community groups across Dundee.

Young people from the Community Space and St John’s High School have explored the cultural and economic contribution of migrant communities to the city, both historically and in the present day.

The various panels highlight this shared experience using techniques common to different cultures including quilting, weaving, printing, transfers, stencils and embroidery. Symbolic imagery and text is incorporated within the design process.

Opening Night is on Friday 1st December 6 – 8pm (Refreshments available) but the exhibition continues on Saturday 2nd December between 11 -4pm & Sunday 3rd December 11 – 4pm. Admission to the exhibition is free of charge.
