Dundee Libraries are holding a number of free events to celebrate Book Week Scotland 2018, between 19 to 25 of November. Book Week Scotland is a national celebration of books and reading that brings hundreds of free events to a variety of venues across the country.

The theme for Book Week Scotland 2018 is Rebel and, throughout the week, they will be celebrating how stories of opposition, uprisings and change have inspired people and communities across the country.

The Dundee events include a conversation at Central Library between James Oswald, author of the bestselling Inspector McLean series and Russel D McLean, crime writer, editor and general miscreant. There is also a talk from local author, Robin A. Crawford, at Arthurstone Library who will be talking about his book – Into the Peatlands. Robin explores the Peatlands over the course of the year, explaining how they have come to be and examining how peat was used from the Bronze Age onwards.
