After a great September SOUP at Duncan of Jordanstone, Dundee SOUP returns to The Circle on 10 December, 6 – 8 pm. Come along to help kickstart some brilliant Dundee projects and have a tasty soup dinner with the city’s supportive community.
Based on the popular Detroit SOUP model, with a Dundee twist, Dundee SOUP is a micro-funding dinner celebrating and supporting creative community projects in Dundee.
For a donation of £5, attendees receive soup, bread and a vote and hear from four presentations and then cast the vote to their favourite one. At the end of the night, we count the votes and transfer them into cash that goes directly to the projects presenting.

We have brilliant projects lined up to introduce themselves to SOUP attendees this December:
The Queer Dot is an arts collective based in and around Dundee which aims to promote the voices of LGBTQIA+ people. Founded by DJCAD students in May 2019, the collective has expanded over the past few months to include poets, performance artists, fine artists, writers and other creatives outside of the education system. The collective has put on two art exhibitions – one in the Cooper Gallery and one at Generator Projects – and several events including a queer clothes swap, a film screening for World Aids Day, and a poetry night.
Youth Friendly Space – a space designed by young people for young people which can be exibly used for 1:1 or group support as well as developing innovative, creative and unique ideas to help young people to grow and make their ideas come to life.
BLEND coffee lounge and who exist not to just be another coffee shop, but to help do good in their Community. They have decided on Christmas day to open their doors, for a free Christmas meal to anybody who wants to join them! They hope that through this they can reach out to those who are in need of family at this time of year.
The Dundee twist is that all participating projects are guaranteed to get a little bit of money and a lot of support from an encouraging community.
Do you have a project that needs support? Apply to pitch at the next Dundee SOUP at The Circle on 10 December, 6 – 8 pm, present your idea to receive direct support from the amazing Dundee SOUP community.
The deadline for December SOUP proposals is 30 November!
Dundee SOUP’s mission is to promote community-based development through crowdfunding, creativity, collaboration, trust and fun. It is a place where everyone is welcomed and supported.
