Adam Willis and James Binning are two founding members of the award-winning architecture and art practice Assemble, V&A Dundee‘s current designers in residence. They will explore their current project with the V&A Dundee and Dundee Libraries, Making Room, as well as detailing their approach to making and production in a variety of other projects at a talk this Saturday 14 March. They will discuss how each project strikes a balance between establishing clear parameters on the one hand, and allowing for chance and embracing the unexpected on the other.
Throughout the summer Assemble, V&A Dundee and Dundee’s Central Library will be working in close collaboration with a group of local people. Through a series of workshops, the group will produce a new interior room inspired by local architecture. This will take shape from 21 March within the galleries, before being moved to the Central Library later this year where it will function as an area for digital learning and making for the city.
This free talk will be held at the Steps Theatre in the Central Library in Dundee. Book your tickets!
