Creative Dundee’s Annual Activities Overview 2020/21

Annual Activities Overview 2020/21 illustration

After what’s been a strange, interesting and tough year for so many, we’ve taken an opportunity to reflect on all of the activities that took place at Creative Dundee over 2020/21.

For the first time, we’ve produced an Annual Activities Overview, brilliantly brought to life by illustrator Lauren Morsley.

Responding to the pandemic in July 2020, we prioritised work across our four pillars (Amplify, Connect, Collaborate and Cultivate), relating to three key intersectional issues facing those in the city and creative industries:

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Structures of Inequality
  • Recovery: Green, Emerging, Local and Global

Our Overview of 2020/21 has been a reminder of the wonderful communities and networks we’re part of. Shared experiences and collaborative working meant a difficult year was still full of opportunities to grow, connect and move onwards together.

Please do take a look to see what we’ve been up to!

We want to take this opportunity to also share some changes and introduce staff within our team: Laura McSorley, Digital Engagement Producer; Jen Collins, Programmes Producer; Claire Dufour, Creative Climate Producer; Andy Truscott, Team Administrator; and Gillian Easson, Executive Director.

We’re so grateful for the support, skills and expertise of our voluntary Board of Directors. We’ll be recruiting for new Directors very soon—keep a lookout for the open call.

We’re committed to providing support for the long term sustainable recovery of the city and sector, and creating local opportunities in partnership with other organisations. Perhaps we’ll even host another PechaKucha Night Dundee soon—in this case: remember, remember the 4th of November!

Thank you always for your support.
