Dundee Musicians Award 2021/2022

Calling all musicians! The Dundee Musicians’ Award is open for applications!


Applications for the Dundee Musicians’ Awards are now being invited, these awards are designed to support Dundee based musicians across all genres. Bursaries of up to £500 are available to support the costs involved in creating new work in any genre, undertaking research and taking part in professional development opportunities.

Previously supported projects include but are not limited to;

  • Short-term or one-off training courses 
  • Workshops 
  • Conference fees 
  • Master-classes 
  • Mentoring 
  • Experiences which lead to improved professional skills 
  • Travel to experience work 
  • Working with new partners or producers to create new works
  • Establishing contacts and partnerships 
  • Exploring opportunities for future projects

The awards support projects that look at creative development through collaborations, working with new partners, or new producers. Past winners have included: The Hazey Janes, Charlotte Brimner, SHEE, The Mirror Trap, Fat Goth, Scary People, AMWWF, Michael Marra, Loadsaweeminsingin, Cantiones Sacrae and many more.

Make sure to fully read the guidelines before making an application, successful awardees will have demonstrated a level of commitment to their work as a musician and will be considered on the following criteria:

  • Quality of the musician’s work
  • Expected impact of support on the applicant’s professional and creative development
  • Clarity of purpose behind the submission and reasons given for applying for an award
  • Quality of the information/material supplied
  • Level of commitment shown to their career

The Dundee Musicians’ Award is staged by Leisure and Culture Dundee. The Award was established in 2008 to support the outstanding work of Dundee-based musicians.

The closing date for applications is Friday 15 January 2022.
