• There’s still plenty of time to sign up for Fun A Day Dundee. Create every day this January and turn a long month into something to look forward to!
• You can revisit Suzanne Scott’s life sized Dundee Christmas Card characters at Verdant Works for the entire month of December!
• Watch CULTIVATE Creative Practitioner Zoë Swann’s wonderful short film ‘Dreams for the Future – Thoughts from the Tayport Climate Festival’.
• Shaper/Caper are looking for new Trustees who can support the incredible work they do in providing access to the arts through dance.

Events

• On 16 December Biome Collective and InGame have come together to present Arcadia Night 2021, an online evening of micro-talks and discussions from leading game designers and thinkers!
• Get to know the sculpture, murals and mosaics of the West End on Sunday 5 December with a guided walking tour hosted by Matthew Jarron from University of Dundee Museums. The event is free, make sure to book!
• Dundee Fringe is making a return with some festive fun, theres something for everyone, running for 9 – 22 December.
• There will be local music, food, craft and more at The Yard’s second Dundee festive market on 11 and 12 December.

Workshops

• Create with Dundee Ceramics Workshop! Build a planter on 4 December or treat your pet to a new handmade bowl on 11 December!
• At the D’Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum make your own puppet of a Huia bird in a creative workshop with How it Felt on 11 December.

Opportunities

• Open Call! Stobswell Pocket Places are looking for creatives for three public art commissions, the artists will work with local business owners to create artwork to go on shop shutters! The deadline is Monday 6 December.
• The Dundee Musicians Awards are now open, apply for a grant of £500 to support your professional practice!
• Open Call to emerging Playwrights! Apply to The St Andrews Playwright Award for a commission of £7,800, mentoring and support toawrds making your first play come to life. Deadline is 17 January, get writing!
• Creative Scotland’s Create:Inclusion Fund opens on 7 December, designed to address the lack of diversity in the arts and creative industries, take a look at previously funded projects!

Exhibitions

• On 11 December DCA opens the first Scottish solo shows by artists Rae Yen Song & Tako Taal.
• You can still catch some of the in real life NEoN Digital Art Festival programme at Sharing Not Hoarding and Mills Observatory throughout December.
• The Cooper Gallery presents The Ignorant Art School: Sit in #2 : To Be Potential. An archival exhibition that presents education as a practice of freedom through alternative radical histories, open now until 19 February.
• DAILY DANCE! by Zoë Gibson runs until 19 December at GENERATORprojects, this immersive installation and lovely film are not to be missed!

• We have a wonderful blog from artist and activist CL Gamble, reflecting on Dundee’s long history of ‘People, Power and Creativity‘
• Sorcha Pringle wrote a piece reflecting on her work as part of the Tourettes Hero Young Artist Development programme, read Transforming the Narrative and listen to Sorcha’s work!
• Dundee Rep Theatre presents ‘Every Map Has a Scale Chapter 2’ created by Scottish Dance Theatre, a free film available to watch online.
