Sun 12 & Sun 19 June, 1:30-3:00pm, at community gardens in Dundee
Dandelion Dundee are thrilled to be kicking off their summer events programme with a Community Garden Tour, where their Musicians in Residence will invite local communities to make music together inspired by garden spaces across the city.
Join Claire Gorman and Mark Urban performing together as St. Kilda Mailboat as they guide you in a workshop that’s suitable for musicians and non-musicians alike. Learn songs and rhythms inspired by the growing year and collaborate to create an original sound piece inspired by each individual community garden.
Sun 12 June: Fruit Bowls Community Garden, Ancrum Road, Lochee
Sun 19 June: Victoria Park Community Garden, Blackness Road, DD2 2BH
Free, with no need to book. Workshop run 1:30-3:00pm, and are open to participants ages 13+. No experience required—beginners are welcome!
Dandelion is a national creative celebration of growing, music and community taking place across Scotland. Local partners have come together to bring the project to the city, including the University of Dundee, Creative Dundee, Dundee City Council and community group, Friends of Fairmuir. Dundee’s Unexpected Garden, Fair Growing Green, will bring new life and fresh produce to the former bowling green in the popular Fairmuir Park over summer 2022.
Dandelion is commissioned by EventScotland and funded by the Scottish Government, and is Scotland’s contribution to UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK.
